Barbarians Rising
This docu-drama focuses on legendary warriors as they’re engaged in one of mankind’s most timeless struggles – the fight for freedom.
Barbarians Rising is not a story about the glory of Rome, it’s the story of the millions who rise and fight for freedom in the shadow of absolute power and the few who led the charge.  The empire calls them “barbarians”: tribes beyond the fringe of civilization that live a primitive, brutish and violent existence.  These peoples are also some of the fiercest warriors in history – men and women who refuse to bow to ruthless oppression, launching an epic saga of resistance that ushers in the fall of Rome and shapes the world to come.

Ancient Worlds
Archaeologist and historian Richard Miles explores the roots of civilisation in an epic series that runs from the creation of the first cities in Mesopotamia to the fall of the Roman Empire. An illuminating and spectacular six-part odyssey tracing the development of Western civilisation - from the first cities of Mesopotamia to the fall of the Roman Empire. Academic and archaeologist Richard Miles travels through the Middle East, Egypt, Pakistan and the Mediterranean to discover how the mainstays of our society - community, democracy, commerce and technology - were forged and fought over in a series of classical cultures. Ancient Worlds tells the amazing stories of disappeared, ruined and modern cities - from Ancient Iraq to Augustan Rome, and from Phoenicia and the city states of Greece to today's Damascus - and reveals the compromise, ruthlessness, sacrifice and toil that made each city work. In an epic sweep of history against a panorama of stunning locations, Richard Miles, with the help of local experts and archaeologists, brings these legendary civilisations back to life to show how the successes and failures of the ancients shaped the world that we have inherited.

Ultimate Battles - Alexander The Great
This stunning documentary details the military strategies and radical warfare techniques that allowed a twenty-two-year-old king to defeat a superior military force and, in one decisive victory, topple the mighty Persian Empire. Known as the Battle of Gaugamela, it is viewed as one of the greatest military engagements of the ancient world. In  331 BC, the two most powerful armies in the world met outside a small village in what is now considered to be Northern Iraq. On one side stood Alexander the Great, the young king of Macedon, and his small, but highly trained force. Opposing him was Darius, the king of Persia, and his army of 250,000 warriors. The film reveals how Alexander's innovative military tactics allowed him to prevail against seemingly overwhelming odds to become the master of the known world.

Atlantis: End of a World Birth of a Legend
Featuring spectacular visual effects, this factually-based drama tells the gripping story of the greatest natural disaster to shake the ancient world, a disaster that triggered the downfall of a civilisation and spawned a legend. Around 1620 BC, a gigantic volcano in the Aegean Sea stirred from its nineteen-thousand year slumber. The eruption tore the island of Thera apart, producing massive tsunamis that flooded the nearby island of Crete, the centre of Europe's first great civilisation - the Minoans. This apocalyptic event, many experts now believe, led to the eventual downfall of the Minoans, and provided the inspiration for Plato when he later wrote about the people of a mighty island, Atlantis, which sank beneath the waves and was lost forever, 'in a single day and a night of misfortune'. Based on the work of leading scientists, archaeologists and historians, this film immerses viewers in the exotic world of the Minoans.

Episode 2: Attila The Hun

Art of War
Sun Tzu was the Nostradamus of warfare, and his book Art of War, written 2,400 years ago, is still the ultimate how-to book for winning. This two-hour special brings his words to life. Shot like a graphic novel, it weaves together several epic stories, including the story of Sun Tzu himself, and a war soon after his death where a city is saved using his tactics as China takes the first step toward unification. We'll also follow other epic battles in history--Roman battles, The Civil War, WWII, and present day--that illustrate more of Sun Tzu's lessons, to detail how the people who understand his strategy are the most dangerous weapons of all. And while his ideals were originally created for battle, his lessons could be used by anyone who wants to win--whether at sports, business, or life.
